Ceramic film rejects more infrared than carbon at the same darkness, and that is a real difference you will feel. What it is worth in degrees depends on your glass, your car, the sun, and what the cabin was doing beforehand — so any shop quoting you a number is quoting a lab test on a pane of glass.
