Which is not six weeks to finish. Upholstery lead times run twelve to twenty weeks and that is the real calendar — the design is done long before the sofa arrives.
What is included
- Measured plan of the room as it exists
- Furniture plan, drawn to scale
- Two elevations where they matter — usually the wall you look at from the door
- Colour and material scheme, with real samples posted to you
- Lighting plan, including switching
- A source list with prices, sizes, lead times, and where to buy each thing
- One revision round after you have lived with it a week
Not included: Buying anything. Procurement is separate and optional, and you are free to buy every item yourself from the list.
Why a room and not a house
- Because a house is not one decision
- It is about forty of them, made over years, most of which you are not ready to make today. A whole-house fee asks you to pretend otherwise.
- Because you find out if we suit each other
- Six weeks and one room is a cheap way to discover you disagree about everything. A twelve-month contract is not.
- Because a finished room changes what you want
- Almost every client changes their mind about the next room after living with the first one. That is not indecision, it is information.
- Because it is the honest way to price it
- A fixed fee only works when the scope has an edge. One room has an edge. A house does not, which is why whole-house work is billed by the hour everywhere.
