There are no dates on this page. I am not going to promise you a Friday and then ring you on the Thursday, and a queue with real positions in it is more use to you than a guess with a date on it.

What the stages mean
- Waiting
- In the rack, not yet looked at properly. Nothing has been agreed.
- Quoted
- Assessed, a number sent, and waiting on you. Nothing is started until you say yes.
- On the bench
- Being worked on now. There is only one bench, so this is one job.
- Finishing
- Work done, drying, curing, or settling. This stage cannot be hurried and is where most of the waiting is.
- Ready
- Set up, played, and waiting for you to collect it.
Most of the waiting on an old instrument is in finishing, and it is not idleness — hide glue, lacquer, and a neck that has just been reset all need time in a clamp doing nothing. Rushing that stage is how a repair fails in two years.
