- How to tell whether a firearm is loaded, on the three most common types
- Making one safe, slowly, with an instructor's hands next to yours
- Storage at home, including with children and with a teenager
- What to do if you find one and do not want to touch it
Range
First range day

Four hours, a Saturday morning · Three people to one instructor
Anyone who has done the classroom session, or has handled a firearm before and wants to start again properly.
- The range briefing, in full, before anything else
- Stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger press
- Fifty rounds at seven yards, at whatever pace you need
- Stopping whenever you want to, with nobody waiting behind you
- What went well and one thing to work on, written down

Home storage consultation

About an hour, at your house · One household
Households with children, with a teenager, or with somebody going through a hard time.
- What you have, and where it currently is
- Options that fit your house and your budget, including the cheap ones
- Ammunition stored separately, and why that is not paranoia
- Who else in the house should know the combination, and who should not
- A written note of what we agreed, so it survives the conversation

Unloading and making safe
Free
As long as it takes · One person
Somebody who has inherited a firearm, or found one, and does not want to handle it.
- You do not have to touch it at any point
- We will make it safe and show you that it is
- Advice on what to do with it next, including how to have it removed
- No charge, ever, and no pressure to book anything else

Fundamentals of pistol marksmanship

Two sessions of three hours · Four people
People who can already handle a firearm safely and want to shoot better.
- Diagnosing your own group rather than guessing
- Dry practice that is actually useful, and how to do it safely at home
- Recoil management without tension
- Working at distance, slowly
Range
Private lesson
$150 an hour
One or two hours · One person, or a couple
Anyone who would rather not do this in front of other people. That is a common and completely reasonable request.

- Including simply sitting in the classroom and not going to the range at all
