Our coffee
Sourced carefully, roasted locally, and served by people who are paid to be here.
Harbor & Pine opened on Alberta because Emily Carter wanted a room she would want to sit in — one with enough space to work, enough noise to feel alive, and coffee good enough that nobody has to apologize for it.
Carefully sourced coffee, locally made pastries, welcoming service, and a comfortable workspace without the feel of a large chain. That is the whole proposition. We are not trying to be a chain and we are not trying to be a laboratory.
What “responsibly sourced” means here
It means we buy through importers who publish what they paid the producer, and we ask. It does not mean we hold a certification — we do not, and we would rather say so than put a logo in the footer that implies otherwise.
Our house blend is a washed Colombia and a natural Ethiopia, roasted in Northeast Portland and delivered within a week of roasting. Single origins rotate; whoever is on bar can tell you what is open and will usually give you a taste first.
The pastries
Everything baked comes from a bakery eleven blocks away, arriving at 6:30am. We do not bake on site and we do not pretend to. When the morning buns are gone, they are gone — usually by early afternoon on a weekend.
