Enrol
Tue 31 Aug
9am to 12pm and 5pm to 8pm. Walk in.
Term 6 begins Tue 7 Sep. If you miss this assessment day the next one is never more than six weeks away — that is what nine terms a year is for.
1
Come on a Tuesday
Assessment days run 9am to 12pm and 5pm to 8pm. You do not need an appointment and you do not need to bring anything. If you can only come on a different day, ring and somebody will sit with you.
2
Twenty minutes with a person
Not a test on a computer. Somebody talks with you, reads a little with you, and asks what you want to be able to do. If we have a volunteer who speaks your language they will sit in, and we usually do.
3
Placed the same afternoon
You leave knowing your class, your room, your nights, and the name of your tutor. If the level turns out to be wrong you move in the first fortnight — that happens most terms and it is not a failure.
4
Bring the children to the first session
Childcare is free and open mon–thu 8:45am–12pm and 5:15–8:15pm, six months to eleven years. There is nothing to book.
Nothing to pay to enrol, in any class.
There is no registration fee, no deposit, and no books to buy. Eight of the nine classes are free outright. The nursing assistant course is $400 including the state exam fee — and if that is the reason you are not enrolling, say so on the assessment day. There is a fund for exactly that and it is not a competition.
Address, hours and the bus stop are in the footer of every page. Parking behind the building is free after 5pm.
