In week two you get salad. The tomatoes are eight weeks away.

Hurley Mountain Road, Kingston

A season of boxes, week by week, with what was in each one.

Last season, week by week.

Not a plan and not a promise — what was actually in the box. This year will be a week either side of it depending on the spring.

That sentence is on the front of the site on purpose. Almost everybody who quits a vegetable share quits in June, because they signed up in February picturing August. So here is the whole season, week by week, before you decide anything.

Week 2
5 things in the box
Week 15
11 things in the box
Season
22 weeks, June to November

Four things worth knowing before you sign up.

June is thin and that is not a mistake
Weeks one to three are greens, radishes, and spring onions. If you signed up imagining a tomato, that is eight weeks away. Everybody who quits a CSA quits in June.
You will get too much squash
Somewhere around week eight. It is unavoidable, it happens on every vegetable farm in this valley, and the newsletter that week is mostly recipes.
Going away is normal
Tell us the week before and we will hold your share for a collection later, or give it to the food pantry in your name. What we cannot do is refund a week.
A bad year is a shared risk
That is what a CSA is. In 2021 we lost most of the tomatoes to blight and the boxes that August were beans and cucumbers. We wrote and said so rather than quietly making the box smaller.

Full share, $680

22 weeks, about $31 a week. Two people who cook most nights, or a family of four who eat a lot of vegetables. A half share exists because most households over-order and then feel bad about the compost.
