How the travel fee works
- The fee is per visit
- Not per animal. Three cats in one house is one travel fee, which is the main reason multi-pet households use a housecall vet.
- Neighbours can share
- Two houses on the same street on the same morning is one trip. Ring and say so; the booking form cannot work it out.
- Visits are scheduled in loops
- Four or five houses a day, routed. Asking for a specific hour is possible; asking for a specific hour tomorrow usually is not.
- Beyond 25 miles, I say no
- An hour of driving each way costs you more than the appointment and means somebody nearer waits. You get a name instead.
