The run
What does this period cost, where did it move, and is any of the movement something we chose?
Week ending Sun 2 Aug 2026 · locks Tue 4 Aug, 16:00
Gross this period
$130,186
against $130,930 last period — down $744 net, which hides a $2,634 fall at one school and a $1,622 rise at one warehouse
Paid hours
7,112
across 214 people at 7 sites — an average nobody works, printed because the total is meaningless without it
Overtime
3%
214 of 7,112 hours — nearly half of it at one site, which is a rostering decision rather than a payroll one
Still open
2 blocking · 13 defaulting
$1,464 at stake — the file cannot be sent until the 2 are cleared
Repeated here because this is the screen somebody presses the button on.
What this screen will not do
- 1No figure for any individual. Not hours, not overtime, not cost. Payroll has names on it and this screen does not use them.
- 2No site ranked against another site. A medical park runs nights and a school runs a summer schedule; the ordering would measure the contract.
- 3Every site compared to itself last period, and to nothing else.
- 4A movement with a known cause carries the cause in the row. An unexplained move is the only kind worth a meeting.
The first line is not squeamishness. A crew that knows its hours are being scored records the hours it thinks are wanted, and then nothing on this screen is true — including the totals somebody is about to send to a bank.
Before the file goes
- 1Clear the 2 blocking exceptions. Nothing else stops the send.
- 2Chase anything on the approvals screen past forty-eight hours, once.
- 3Read the 3 sites with a written cause and confirm the cause is still true.
- 4Send. Anything still open pays its default and appears on next week's list.
Four steps, in this order, every Tuesday. It is on the screen because the week somebody does them out of order is the week the file goes without a court order applied.
Seven sites · each against itself last period
| Site | Staff | Hours | Overtime | Gross | vs last period | Cause on file |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toledo Civic Center | 34 | 1,224 | 413.3% | $22,032 | +$622 · up | None. Within a hundred dollars of itself. |
| Maumee Distribution | 41 | 1,558 | 966.2% | $29,602 | +$1,622 · up | Two weeks of a contract uplift that has not been re-quoted. The overtime here is structural. |
| Riverside Medical Park | 28 | 1,092 | 222% | $21,840 | +$218 · up | None. Within a hundred dollars of itself. |
| Perrysburg Schools | 31 | 868 | 80.9% | $14,756 | −$2,634 · down | Summer schedule. The drop is the calendar, not a problem, and it reverses on 24 Aug. |
| Sylvania Office Park | 22 | 704 | 40.6% | $11,968 | +$264 · up | None. Within a hundred dollars of itself. |
| Oregon Industrial | 26 | 962 | 313.2% | $17,316 | +$432 · up | None. Within a hundred dollars of itself. |
| Roving and cover | 32 | 704 | 121.7% | $12,672 | −$1,268 · down | Cover hours fall when the sites are fully staffed, which is the point of them. |
| All sites | 214 | 7,112 | 214 | $130,186 | −$744 | 3 of 7 sites carry a written cause, and between them they are most of the movement. |
The accent marks the 3 rows with a cause on file, not the 3 largest moves. They happen to be the same rows this week and will not be next week: a move with an explanation is a row somebody has already thought about, and an unexplained one is the row worth the meeting — so the unexplained rows are left plain rather than marked, because marking them would read as handled.
