We are closed overnight and there is nobody at the clinic. For an emergency outside opening hours, ring the regional emergency service on (406) 555-0199 and go where they send you.
What to doQuestions
The five the front desk answers most days.
- Do you see emergencies after hours?
- No. We are a daytime clinic, not an emergency hospital, and there is nobody here overnight. If something is wrong outside opening hours, do not drive to us — ring the after-hours emergency service listed at the top of every page on this site and go where they tell you. During opening hours we keep slots free every day for urgent cases and you should ring us straight away.
- How does the farm call fee work?
- There is a trip charge on top of the work, and it depends on whether we were already coming. Each part of the valley has a day: north on Tuesday, Missoula on Wednesday, mid valley on Thursday, south on Friday. Booking onto your section's day is the cheapest way to see us, and if you ring for a different day we will tell you what your day is before you commit.
- Which day are you in my part of the valley?
- Tuesday for Lolo, Florence, and Carlton. Wednesday for Missoula and the bench. Thursday for Stevensville, Victor, and Corvallis. Friday for Hamilton, Grantsdale, and Darby. Monday is surgery and Saturday is the clinic only. The route page has the whole rotation.
- Do you see exotics or birds?
- Rabbits, guinea pigs, and rats, yes. Birds, reptiles, and anything more unusual, no — not because they are difficult but because we do not see enough of them to be good at it, and there is a practice in Missoula that does. We will give you their number rather than have a go.
- Will you come to the house for a euthanasia?
- Yes, and a lot of families choose that. Ring the clinic rather than booking online so we can talk about timing, who will be there, and what you would like to do afterwards. We do not rush these and we do not book anything behind them.
